Artemio Dela Cruz was born in Negros Oriental. At present, he resides in Lilo-an Cebu City together with his only child. He graduated B.S Marine Technology in one of the respective Universities in Cebu. In relation to his course, he used to work as a ship crew for six years. But then, he decided to start a business in 1999, naming it “D and E Shipbreaker and Scrap buyer”. It is engaged in sea base projects and activities. Artemio owns a passenger ship, and he buys ship that are for dismantling from different shipping companies. In connection with scrap projects, he purchases ships from local shipyards. Recently, he bought two ships which will take him two years to rip apart. Ship scraps, that are recyclable will be sold to his six regular scrap buyers. 

With this project, he will be providing continuous employment for his 39 existing regular workers and 10 part-time workers. All his worker receives their salary on a weekly basis together with free meals, board, and lodging. His loan proceed will be used for the delivery of scrap materials to his buyers and for the reconditioning of his passenger ship. 

NPFC and Lendahand will provide a working capital loan to Artemio to be repaid in 12 months.
