Flora Handicraft, a business that focus on seashell, cocoshell and woodcraft is owned by a sixty three (63) year old, Flora Baclay. The client and her husband Virgilio were former factory workers of an international rattan furniture company in Mandaue for several years (7) before they decided to have their own business. Flora Handicraft is now on its 30th year in business operation with fifteen (15) in-house workers but sixty percent (60%) of its production is composed of household job-outers. These job-outers were paid upon delivery of the products they made in their individual houses and their salary is based on the number of the products they delivered.

Wall décor, shell curtain and wind chime are some of the products of Flora Handicrafts. The business sells the products locally but is also subcontracting with local exporters and at the same time exporting products directly to China and other nearby countries.

Lendahand partner’s NPFC supported Flora Handicrafts in acquiring additional capital to purchase the necessary raw materials needed to produce the products which are ordered from other countries.
