Mirasol Morales is a graduate in Culinary Arts. After graduation she started working as production head of Vavaveggie Inc. Soon however, she decided to put her entrepreneurial skills in good use and start her own business called ‘’Lai’s Vegetables Products’’.

Mirasol, also known as “Lai” manages the operation of the business while her spouse helps her in purchasing and accounting matters. The business started as trader, but eventually evolved into manufacturing where they process and pack vegetables and deliver it to different restaurant chains locally. The key product they make is the sanitized ready-to-eat lettuce.

Ms. Lai employs 17 workers of which most have at least a high school diploma. All receive weekly pay with social security and healthcare benefits. She also helps the community by maintaining a feeding program for the kids of Pasig City, which just started this year.

Lai and her spouse wanted to employ more out of school youth to sustain the community and offer fair chances of employment. Lendahand is supporting Lai together with local partner NPFC in acquiring additional raw materials to boost the production. The loan’s maturity is 18 months.
