Mark and Raquel Yema of Bulacan is owned by Raquel Sagala. Established since 1999, yema business is now on its 15 years of operation assisted by his spouse in operation. They started making yema (sweet made from yolk and sugar) when she got pregnant and stopped from working. Products were first sold at school, then to sari-sari store (small stores selling items per piece) around area, and eventually became the supplier of different markets around Bulacan. Supplying of yema products is not limited to sari-sari stores or markets but also in a resorts every summer in the same area. Raquel employs six female workers, all housewives provided with Philhealth benefit and a salary that depends on production. For seven years continuously, she supports school feeding program for the kids. Raquel and her spouse wanted to have expansion and soon to have branch outside Bulacan. Together with Lendahands partner NPFC is helping Raquel Sagala in acquiring additional working capital for business expansion.
