Zenaida Zapanta Lico is a resident from Antipolo City, Rizal. She owns ‘Carmelitas Cashew Nut’ which started its operation in 1965 by her mother. At first, products are peddled by her parents and as it grows , she met a friend who helped her to put up a bigger cashew nut business. In 1999, Zenaida also known as Zeny took over the business and their cashew nuts were being supplied at different local supermarkets. Zeny employs four males and 2 females that are highschool graduates. Where she provides minimum rate salary and complete SSS, Pagibig and Philhealth benefits with bonus, 13th month pay and free meal. She conducts feeding program if needed in nearby areas and gives cash assistance for emergencies. Zenaida wanted to have a bigger business. Currently she is looking for a possible pili nut supplier to add to her products. Together with Lendahand’s partner NPFC is helping Zenaida Zapanta Lico in acquiring additional working capital for business expansion.
